I really wanted to enjoy this event, but it felt disorganized from the start. The schedule changed at the last minute, people didn’t seem sure where we were supposed to go, and check-in took way longer than it should have. It just didn’t feel like they were fully prepared... which was disappointing because I was looking forward to it

I’m happy with it so far. The shirt feels nice and comfortable, and the print still looks “fresh” even after washing it...

You can tell the volunteer leaders genuinely care, and my gut says they’re really in it for the right reasons. Things do get a little messy with scheduling now and then, but overall the people leading it seem committed and well-meaning.

It seemed like a nice idea, but... I don’t know, I just felt kind of left out while I was there.

I really liked the idea behind GirlTrek and getting more women out walking. It felt positive and motivating at first, and I did start walking a little more in the beginning. But after a while, it didn’t really change my routine as much as I hoped.

The emails and challenges felt a bit scattered to me, and I think I needed something simpler with more regular check-ins to keep me going. It wasn’t a bad experience at all, it just didn’t end up being the kind of support I personally needed.

I was hoping this would give me more of a push and keep me accountable, but it felt easy to drift away from it. The overall vibe was a bit too relaxed for what I needed. Since nobody really checked in or nudged me along, I eventually just stopped using it.

I tried joining a few local walks, but getting a response took way longer than I expected. When someone finally did reply, it felt like I had to explain the same thing over and over, which got frustrating. I was hoping for a bit more support from the community side, but it felt kind of absent

I really appreciate how GirlTrek ties something as simple as walking to Black women’s history and everyday life. It feels warm and welcoming, not like anyone is being talked down to or left out. Everyone deserves spaces like this that feel supportive and easy to step into, and that’s exactly what this feels like to me.

I’d give GirlTrek 4 stars. The walking program is simple, low-pressure, and easy to stick with. I’ve tried other fitness things that felt like a whole production, so I’m blaming them for making me appreciate how doable this feels. The group vibe helps a lot too.

The only thing that bugged me was the site. Some of the info wasn’t as easy to find as it should’ve been, so it took me a minute to figure out where to start. That part could definitely be clearer, but the walks are motivating and I’d still keep using it.

I really like what they’re trying to do, the mission is clear and genuinely easy to get behind. But then comes the dramatic pause: the finances. I just wish that side of things were laid out a bit more clearly, because it would make the whole experience feel a lot more trustworthy and complete.

Getting registered was quick and easy overall. I did get a little confused at the email step for a minute, but it wasn’t a big deal once I figured it out. Smooth experience in the end.
